Come to the 2012 Belleville Festival of Stories on March 29, from 6:30-7:30 PM!
There are two separate parts to this first, festival - a day and at Lindenwood University, Belleville Campus where 2000 Belleville students from 4-6th grades come to listen to stories by nationally-known storytellers and to participate in a workshop given by regional storytellers from throughout Illinois and the St. Louis area. The workshops combine storytelling and character education. Each teller masterfully presents his/her own story and workshop idea based on one or more of the pillars of character.
Some storytellers will outreach to area schools who cannot attend the day event. More storytelling events are part of the many special events in Belleville during the year.
On Friday, March 30th at 12:00 and again at 1:15 PM, school children and the public are invited to hear Mike Anderson and Anne Shimojima during the Festival of Stories school performances in the Lindenwood University’s Theatre/Auditorium in Belleville.
We begin the festival with a public event that is FREE and open to the public. Bring your family to Franklin School gym: 301 North Second Street, Belleville, IL 62220 from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. We look forward to seeing you, and your family, there. See you soon!
